Guest Speaker January 15 Focusing on Strengths-Based Therapy

Lindenwood University-Belleville will host the workshop, “Strengths-Based Therapy with Adolescents and Families: Effective, Time-Sensitive Strategies,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15. Sponsored by Lindenwood’s Professional and School Counseling Continuing Education Program, the address will be delivered by Bob Bertolino, Ph.D., assistant professor of rehabilitation counseling at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Topics will include key factors to successful strengths-based therapy for adolescents and families; essential processes for improving therapy outcomes; strategies for maximizing the strengths of adolescents, caregivers and family members who contribute to change; and strengthening therapeutic relationships through collaboration.

Bertolino is a senior clinical advisor of Youth In Need, Inc., and founder of Therapeutic Collaborations Consultation and Training. He has authored several books and led more than 300 workshops around the world. He is a licensed marital and family therapist, professional counselor, clinical social worker, national certified counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor, and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Registration for the Lindenwood University-Belleville workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the presentation will begin at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served.

The cost to attend is $80 per person, or $70 per person if paid before Saturday, Jan. 2. To register or to learn more, please call 618-222-1050 and dial extension 0.
