Daniel Boone Home Celebrates Holiday Season with Annual Candlelight Tour
10/16/2009
Join the Historic Daniel Boone Home and Boonesfield Village as it celebrates the holiday season with its Annual Candlelight Tour on December 4, 5, 11, and 12. View the Boone Home and the Village decorated and lit with thousands of candles to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere full of holiday cheer and good tide.

The Annual Candlelight tour will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. and begin the first tour at 6 p.m. The last tour ticket will be sold at 9 p.m. Advanced tickets are being sold now through November 25, 2009 for $13 for an adult and $8 for a child (ages 4-11.) Regular admission is $15 for an adult and $10 for a child (ages 4-11.) Children ages 3 and under are free.

Start the holiday season by enjoying the simple pleasures of the American Frontier. As night falls, thousands of candles are lit along with bonfires to create a soft glow throughout the village and Boone Home. Guests are offered hot chocolate and wassail as they make their way down the lantern lit paths to the many shops of yesteryear. Each building will be dressed in period décor and offer a glimpse at what life was like during the 19th century. Artisans, musicians, and town folk populate the village and Boone Home greeting and entertaining visitors.

The Historic Daniel Boone Home is a four-story Georgian-style mansion that was built overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. The building features four floors and seven fireplaces. The Boonesfield Village is a collection of buildings that have moved to the site from the local area and used to simulate a frontier town.

For additional information on the Annual Candlelight Tour, contact Amanda Carrow at ACarrow@lindenwood.edu or visit our website at www.lindenwood.edu/boone and click on the calendar.
