As the school year rapidly draws to a close, the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams concluded their seasons with a pair of matches in Iowa. The men’s team finished with a record of 7-13, while the women’s squad compiled a record of 5-13.
This past weekend, the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams completed their seasons with a pair of matches. On Saturday morning, the men’s team defeated Grandview 8-1, while the ladies fell to the Vikings by a score of 6-3. On Saturday afternoon, the men dropped a 9-0 decision to Graceland University, while the women’s team lost to the Yellow Jackets 8-1.
On a warm and windy Wednesday afternoon, the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams travelled across the river to take on Missouri Baptist University. While the men’s team fell to the Spartans by a 7-2 score, the women’s team staged a remarkable comeback to claim a 5-4 victory in an epic four and a half hour match.
On Saturday morning, the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams played host to McKendree University. Both Lynx teams fell to the NCAA Division II Bearcats by identical 8-1 scores. Later in the afternoon, the men’s team hosted Concordia Seminary and closed out their home schedule with a 9-0 victory over the Preachers.
Godfrey, Ill. – On Friday afternoon the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams hit the road again, accepting the challenge of the Lewis and Clark Community College Trailblazers. The women’s team was able to pick up their fourth win of the season by a score of 4-3 while the men fell to their hosts by a score of 7-2. By mutual agreement, the women’s match consisted of two doubles matches and five singles matches.
After a 12-day layoff for Spring Break, the Lindenwood University-Belleville men’s tennis team returned to action on Wednesday evening against Washington University in St. Louis. In a race against the elements, the No. 14 ranked Bears shutout the Lynx 7-0 before inclement weather put a halt to competition.
The Lindenwood University – Belleville men’s and women’s tennis teams are scheduled to host a 2013 Summer Camps, directed by Head Coach Adam Reeb. The camps will take place June 10-14 and June 17-21 at the Lynx Tennis Courts on the campus of LU – Belleville.
