Belleville, Ill. - The Lindenwood – Belleville Men’s and Women’s Bowling teams have had an exceptional season so far, and as a first year program the Lynx are now headed to Sectionals.
“There are a lot of teams that have been around for a long time who never make it to sectionals,” said Head Coach Kim Williams. “For us to make it as a first year program is a huge accomplishment and I’m proud of our teams.”
Oh the men’s side, Clayton Wilke, Corey Meehan, Scott Jackson, Jon Heimann and Jay Hoque will be the starting five with Jared Burgard, Anthony Linck, and Doug Reno serving as alternates to round out the eight-man squad. The women competing at sectionals will be Chohnice Daniels, Amanda Quirin, Megan Johnson, Kassie Gause, Karyssa Betts, Aurora Maze, Cecelia Sauerwein and Kalee Norrenberns.
“We will be one of the only teams comprised of mostly freshman,” said Williams. “This is a big deal for our young program and we are excited to compete amongst the best teams in the nation.”
The sectional tournament will take place March 9-11 at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Illinois and is comprised of the Top 80 teams in the nation from all levels of competition (NCAA – DI, DII, DIII and NAIA).
