Lindenwood – Belleville Signs Two More Bowling Recruits for Inaugural Season

Belleville, Ill. – Lindenwood – Belleville announced the signing of Kassie Gause and Anthony Linck this week to bowl as part of the inaugural Lynx bowling teams.

Gause, a top recruit in the area, was the senior captain and anchor for Edwardsville High School last year. She had the highest series for the past two seasons on her team, was voted most outstanding player, and was given the Nick Rooney Bowling Award. “I’m honored to help launch what is sure to be an amazing program and am extremely grateful to continue my bowling career at Lindenwood – Belleville,” said the soon-to-be freshman.

Gause is part of a family history of bowlers. “I come from a long line of bowlers, from my grandpa to my brother and me, so I was convinced to try out in high school,” said Gause.

Linck, who lived for eight years in Portland, Australia, only began bowling in 2009, but took to the sport quickly. He worked with Gause’s father, Jeffery, only one week prior to tryouts. By the end of the tryout week, he had made the varsity team. “Anthony is definitely talented and has a tremendous upside,” said Curtis Wilkerson, head coach. “He is going to be an important piece to the puzzle for our team in the coming years.”

With the two additions, Lindenwood – Belleville is hoping to recruit several more new players to the program in the coming weeks and months. “I’m thrilled that both Kassie and Anthony chose Lindenwood – Belleville,” said Wilkerson. “They both had other offers from schools with previously established bowling teams, but we are proud that they will be part of our inaugural team next season.”
