Head Coach: Dan Mertzlufft
Lindenwood – Belleville men’s lacrosse is led by Dan Mertzlufft.
Mertzlufft is in his 2nd season as the Lynx head coach. He has years of experience as a player at the collegiate level and as a coach at the high school level. For the young program he
has high hopes and aspirations. In a short amount of time he looks to be a national contender. Coach Mertzlufft’s coaching philosophy can be summed up in three words: Family, Academics, Lacrosse. In his 2nd year as head coach, he is working on instilling that philosophy at every level of the program.
Most recently, Mertzlufft was a varsity assistant coach at Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School in St. Louis, Mo. There, he was responsible for coaching defense and goalies. Before taking the position at CBC, he was the head coach at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, Mo.
Mertzlufft was an accomplished player at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., where he was named All-Conference in 2007 and 2008. He was the recipient of the Coaches’ Leadership Award in 2007.
Mertzlufft is a St. Louis, Mo. Native, where he graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Lindenwood University in 2008.
