Lindenwood University – Belleville has been accepted into the American Midwest Conference, as announced by league administrators on Wednesday. This comes one year after being accepted into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as an independent institution.
Belleville, Ill. – Lindenwood University – Belleville Head Women’s Basketball Coach Annie Ewing has announced the 2012-13 season was her last season as Head Coach. Ewing is handing over her role following a record-setting 2012-13 season with the Lady Lynx.
The Lindenwood-Belleville Lady Lynx took on the Lady Wildcats of Daemen College in the 2013 USCAA National Championship game. The Lady Lynx came out of the gates fast, taking a 7-2 lead just three minutes into the game.
The Lindenwood – Belleville Lady Lynx took on the Lady Gyrenes of Ave Maria University in the Semifinals of the USCAA National Tournament. The Lady Lynx would find themselves down 11-6 just 3:30 minutes into the game. From there the Lady Lynx would go on an 11-4 run take a four point lead.
The Lindenwood-Belleville Lady Lynx took on the Southern Virginia University Lady Knights in the opening round of the USCAA National Championships. The Lady Lynx jumped out to a 22-5 lead that included four three-pointers from Taylor James.
The fields for the 2013 USCAA Basketball National Championships have been finalized, and the men’s and women’s basketball teams have both received bids for the second-consecutive season. The Championships, hosted by Penn State - Uniontown, will take place February 26 - March 7 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The women wrapped up the season at a No. 3 seed, while the men finish at the No. 4 seed.
Brooke Dunning scored the first 12 points for the Lady Lynx as they jumped out to an early 12-5 lead. From there the Lady Lynx would go on an 18-0 run to extend the lead to 23. At the half the Lady Lynx were up by 36. In the second half the Lady Lynx would build a 57 point lead and never look back, they would go on to win, 113-49.
The Lady Lynx ended the first half on a 10-2 run to take a 50-37 lead. To start the second half the Lady Lynx would go on an 11-2 run to extend their lead to 20 and never looked back, winning by a score of 102-73. Diamond Burt picked up her first career double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
The Lady Lynx saw themselves down by six points with two minutes left in the first half, but they would end the half on a 7-1 run to tie the game up. In the second half the Lady Lynx built an eight point lead after a basket by Bernie Brown. The Cougars of Mid-Continent wouldn’t go away though, they would cut the lead to three with 24 seconds left, but that’s as close they would get. The Lady Lynx would go on to win by a score of 79-76.
