Baseball - About the Program
Coach Johnson enters his first season as the Head Baseball Coach at Lindenwood University-Belleville. Johnson comes to Lindenwood-Belleville from Webster University, where he was an assistant coach from 2008 to 2010, being the Head Assistant and Pitching Coach in 2009-10. In Johnson’s coaching time at Webster, the baseball program took tremendous strides and rose to a level of national success each year. In 2010, the Gorloks won their fifth consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championship and set a school record for wins finishing 35-11. Webster received a bid to the NCAA National Tournament, where they fell two games short of the College World Series, losing to eventual National Champion Illinois Wesleyan. The Lindenwood – Belleville baseball Lynx play all home games at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Ill. The ballpark, home to the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League, is a state of the art facility that has a seating capacity of 6,000.
